Winds of Change (Finally Over)

Leafstar blinked over the carnage left behind by the battle. It was finally over, she had killed Nightstar, the only IronClan cats that were left were Darkshiver, Coonpetal, and Poisonpoppy. They all looked so shaken. She looked across the dead. There were not only dead IronClan cats, but Eagleheart, Freezestone, Brokenclaw, Heavyrumble, Swiftblizzard, Dropletshimmer, Vividpath, Sparrowcall, and Cloverslash were all in StarClan now. She shook her head and her eyes burned. It was such a waste of life, they were gone...But Nightstar could never hurt anyone ever again.

"It's over." Jaychaser's voice sounded cold and distant from behind her, she could only manage a small nod of her head. "We should get home." He muttered. His eyes dull when she turned to look at him, her own looked beaten and wrecked. She had lost the very cat that she had loved, Eagleheart, he was gone.

"Yes we should." She dared not utter another word, she feared that she would break. "FORESTCLAN WE MUST GO, THE BATTLE IS WON!" She yowled before she broke into an all out spring to get back to camp, her nerves were frayed and her senses were still on high alert.

By the time she reached camp she was already half asleep, she didn't bother to even look at her clan before she went into her den and fell fast asleep.

Leafstar woke the next morning a bit groggy. She groomed the dried blood out of her pelt, her green eyes were dull and uncaring. But she had to announce to the clan. She ran gracefully to Twisted Tree, her paws carrying her swiftly. She leaped branch to branch with grace and agility. She stood on High Branch and looked down at her clan, hope flaring in her heart. 


"All cats old enough to catch their own prey join for a clan meeting beneath High Branch!" She yowled loud and proud. The clan all gathered under her. "First off I have terrible new that has to be said Eagleheart, Freezestone, Brokenclaw, Heavyrumble, Swiftblizzard, Dropletshimmer, Vividpath, Sparrowcall, and Cloverslash are all in StarClan now." She hung her head low. "We saw no sign of Bumblestep after the battle, so we must assume that he to is dead." She sighed slowly. "Nightstar is dead." She called loudly, and the clan looked a little happier. All except for Viperpaw. A deep growl came from her.

"You killed my mother!" She howled at Leafstar.

"She was not your mother! She was your capture, she had no love for you!" she grew stern at the apprentice.

"You never knew her! You only took her life!" She flinched at her own words. "And what about Cricketkit!? She has no real mother now does she?!" She growled.

"Viperpaw! That is enough!" She finally snapped. "As said, Nightstar's daughter is with us now, her name is Cricketkit. She is be treated as any kit of our clan would be with love and compassion!" She howled and her clan nodded.

"The former medicine cat of IronClan, Poisonpoppy will not be staying with us and is moving on shortly to become a rouge, but she will return if we ever need her." The former medicine cat nodded. "Coonpetal and Darkshiver, Quickpad's siblings, are joining us as warriors today!" The clan cheered "Tigerpaw has returned to us, we are all grateful for his safe return!" The clan cheered loudly."Viperpaw, Acornpaw, Blossompaw, Peakpaw, and Fierypaw are all joining us, they were Wonderstar's kits and will be welcomed with open paws and hearts. Marshpaw is also joining, his mother is Quiverbreeze, their sister Rosepaw disappeared when the battle started." She hung her head.

"Finally on our way home we found some roaming cats that will be joining us! Wolfstorm, Moonblossom, Larkpaw and Willowpaw!" She called and the clan cheered. "Oh! I almost forgot, Goldenfurze is now expecting!" She called and the clan seemed to glow. "That is all! Clan dismissed!" She leaped down, her hope was barley restored but she kept her fake smile up, a mask against the world.
