Winds of Change (Battle Plans)

Leafstar gazed down at her camp, everyone seemed so happy, but it was time to take action, if they didn't soon, than Nightstar would learn of their swelling numbers and the surprise would be ruined! But gazing down at the camp she saw everyone looking so happy and joyful, how many of them wouldn't come back from the battle with IronClan that was fast approaching? She shook her head and padded to Flowheart's den. She peeked in to see Cloudspinner curled around her kits, asleep. And Flowheart sorting herbs. 


"Flowheart?" She twitched her ears a bit tentatively. 


"Yes Leafstar?" The she-cat purred nicely without turning around, still sorting. 


"I need you to prepare as many herbs as you possibly can, were going to need them." She spoke softly and carefully. The medicine cat turned around a bit shocked.


"Leafstar, is something wrong?" She asked a bit worried, but the answer was clear enough.


"There will be nothing wrong after what is right is done." Her ears flattened against her head with anger. Flowheart only nodded and went back to sorting her hers, now more carefully and concentrated on what she was doing. 


Leafstar padded back into the clearing and looked around. She looked at all the kits that were near the nursery, Sleetkit, Mossykit, Ripplekit, Frozenkit, Dappledkit, Snowkit and Berrykit. They were all SEVEN moons now! Her ears went up in shock, had she missed their sixth moon completely?! She growled at herself. She needed to announce so much now...She shook her head, everything was moving so fast! Her head spun and her paws felt as if they were to fall out from under her. On top of all the stress, Deepheart has been badgering her about getting a MATE of all things! She hadn't taken any interest in the toms, other than Eagleheart, but he was so distant and was with Cloudspinner by now, and also Applesplash had taken all the attention of every tom! She had too much on her mind to waste time day dreaming about kits and love. 


She ran gracefully to Twisted Tree, her paws carrying her swiftly. She leaped branch to branch with grace and agility. She stood on High Branch and looked down at her clan, hope flaring in her heart.


"All cats old enough to catch their own prey join for a clan meeting beneath High Branch!" She called with pride and hope for her clan. Everyone came to gather, including the seven moon old kits! She sighed, and many apprentices that needed to be made into warriors she decided. 


"We have much to talk about today! Good and bad! So lets start on a high note!" She purred happily. "First, Riseshadow is expecting Quickpad's kits!" She purred and the clan cheered at her. "Next we have some apprentices that deserve to be made warriors!" She purred loudly and happily. 


"Would Flashpaw, Swiftpaw, Vividpaw, Ashpaw, Sparrowpaw, Goldenpaw, Foxpaw, Surgingpaw, and Cloverpaw all please step forward!" She called and every apprentice stepped forward happily.


"Do you all promise to uphold the warrior code, defend your clan to the best of you abilities. And fight for ForestClan till your dying breath?" Leafstar let her gaze look from apprentice to apprentice.


"I do." They all smiled up at her with pure adoration and happiness. 


"Than by the powers StarClan has invested in my I will hail you by your warrior names, Flashpaw you will be known as Flashfire, StarClan honors your strength and your kindness and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan. Swiftpaw, you shall be known as Swiftrain, StarClan honors your courage and brains and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan." She purred happily to the two brothers and turned to Vividpaw.


"Vividpaw, you first wanted to be medicine cat and StarClan voiced it's disapproval. But I think that you were meant for so much more than a normal warrior. I offer you some solace for the loss of your dream by asking you if you would like to be both a nursery and medicine cat helper." She looked at the white apprentice who blinked in thought. "You don't have to answer me now, but I will still hail you by your new warrior name, from now on you shall be known as Vividpath, StarClan honors your skills and determination to learn new things and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan." She purred at the white warrior.


She turned her focus back to the other apprentices that still had to be made into warriors. "Ashpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Ashflick, StarClan honors your bubbly and fun personality and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan! Sparrowpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Sparrowcall, StarClan honors your resourcefulness and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan. Goldenpaw, you shall now be known as Goldenfurze, StarClan honors your forgiveness and beauty and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan. Foxpaw, you shall be known as Foxclaw, StarClan honors your loyalty and determination to follow the Warrior Code and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan. Surgingpaw, you shall be known as Surgingstorm, StarClan honors your brute strength and self-determination. And finally, Cloverpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Cloverslash, StarClan honors your determination to learn and your kindness and welcomes you as a full warrior of ForestClan." She finished, out of breath, but the new warriors all gazed up at her happily and the clan chanted their names.


"Joining these new warriors is Dropletshimmer, a new cat!" She called and the clan cheered again. "Also joining is an apprentice! But we have many new apprentices to name!" She called out.


"Skypaw, Ripplekit, Sleetkit, Frozenkit, Mossykit, Snowkit, Blossomkit, and Dappledkit please step forward!" She called out happily. All the cats did as they were told. 


"Do you all promise to uphold the warrior code, defend your clan to the best of you abilities and obey me and your mentors at all times as long as it is in the best interest of the clan?" Leafstar let her gaze look from cat to cat. 


"I do." They all nodded happily without any hesitation. Their eyes shimmered


"Than Skypaw your mentor will be me. Ripplekit, you shall be known as Ripplepaw, your mentor will be Dropletshimmer. Sleetkit, you shall be known as Sleetpaw, your mentor will be Honeyblaze. Frozenkit, you shall be known as Frozenpaw, your mentor will be Acornwing. Mossykit, you shall be known as Mossypaw, your mentor will be Flamestone. Snowkit, you shall be known as Snowpaw, your mentor will be Snowcrumble. Blossomkit, you shall be known as Blossompaw, your mentor will be Fleckshadow. And Dappledkit, you shall be known as Dappledpaw, your mentor will be Jaychaser." The new apprentices grinned with pride as they were moved up from kits, their eyes glowed.


"The final thing that I have to say is that we are going to battle!" She yowled loudly, so that every cat would know. "We will leave to attack IronClan camp in two sunrises!" She growled and cats cheered. "I have the battle already planned out she announced." The cats kept their gaze locked to her. 


"The last piece of wonderful news is that Bluejay and Honeyblaze are now mates!" She purred happily and the rest of the clan did as well. 


"Jaychaser will take all the former EveningClan cats to around the back side of the camp and attack from behind. The cats he is taking specifically are Fleckshadow, Honeyblaze, Bluejay, Icycloud, Badgerfrost, Shadowfrost, Goldenfurze, Foxclaw, and Surgingstorm." She nodded to the cats that she had called. "That mean Acornwing, Trembleglade, Applesplash, and Cloverslash are the ONLY former EveningClan cats, other then the kits, queens and elders that are NOT going into battle, but staying here to protect the camp." Everyone nodded and was aware of their place for now. 


"I will lead the main attack, which is Eagleheart, Dizzysong, Brokenclaw, Freezestone, Heavyrumble, Hiddenmist, Riseshadow, Windsflash, Lionsound, Darkmist, Snowcrumble, and Dropletshimmer." She nodded to those cats. "That means that Morningpaw, Blackheart, Blizzardsight, Flamestone, Flashfire, Swiftrain, Vividpath, Ashflick, Sparrowcall, Skypaw, Ripplepaw, Mossypaw, Frozenpaw, Sleetpaw, Dappledpaw, Berrypaw, and Snowpaw are all staying in camp to defend what we have here!" She nodded to those cats as well. Everyone seems to accept the fact. 


"Leafstar!" Quickpad growled loudly. His eyes flaring. "I will not allow Riseshadow to go into battle!" His claws slid out with anger. Leafstar nodded.


"Okay Quickpad, but than you will have to take her place." Quickpad nodded, anything to get is mate out of the fight, Riseshadow didn't seem to happy about this. 


"If everyone is set on these plans than Clan Dismissed! Do everything you can to prepare!" She leaped down and padded alone, sitting in camp alone, before Deepheart came to talk to her. 


"You may not come back from his, the blind she-cat muttered sadly. "You should get a mate before than." She purred and Leafstar laughed, it was funny how something so simple was so hard at the same time.
